an early morning visit

So as i wrote my first post the other day
my sister was in the hospital about to give birth.
Now, i would've been there too except it was super early morning and there are no visitors allowed at 2:30 a.m. Unless the nurses are super cool. And since that was the case, i packed my camera equipment, which consisted of my canon xsi, a macro 50mm and then just a standard 50mm and headed off to the hospital. It took me maybe 13 minutes to make a drive that usually takes 25 minutes.

Yay me.

On the way i spotted some lightening in the distance and sure enough as walked into my sister's hospital room it started pouring. A wonderful way to start my first niece's life. Because i love thunderstorms. And that is the start of my first photo session with baby Ava. Might i add that she was a perfect subject. She was snuggled in my sister's arms with her eyes shut tight and still just a tad swollen. When she cried it was no more than a soft adorable whimper. Well until later when she was getting washed and then it was a more of a sweet loud cry, if there is such a thing.

And so the photo shoot began.

Happy Birthday Sweet Ava.
